Tyrod Taylor (chest) reportedly week-to-week for Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Tyrod Taylor (chest) is considered week-to-week, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Taylor suffered a pregame injury that prevented him from participating in the Chargers' overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn said Sunday that Taylor will be the Week 3 starter versus the Carolina Panthers "if he's 100 percent ready to go," but Schefter's report makes way for Justin Herbert to draw another start and take over the job. Herbert completed 22-of-33 passes for 311 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception on Sunday with 18 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Tyrod scored 9.02 FanDuel points and averaged 0.11 Passing Net Expected Points per attempt in Week 1 while Herbert put up 23.24 with 0.24 Passing NEP per attempt in his NFL debut. The Chargers' entire offense would benefit from Herbert starting in Week 3 against a Panthers team that ranks 23rd in pass defense, per numberFire's advanced metrics.
