Bengals' Vontaze Burfict has three-game ban upheld
Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict had his three-game suspension upheld for violating the league's policy on player safety.
Burfict's ban was a candidate for reduction because it was so harsh, but the NFL has decided the punishment still fit the crime. Burfict was out of control late in the season, boiling over in a shameful display in the Wild Card round. Absent a Bengals bye, he'll return in Week 4.
Burfict recorded 57 tackles, one sack and two picks this year for a Cincinnati defense which finished 10th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play.
