49ers' George Kittle (knee) doesn't practice Thursday, still expected to face Jets Week 2
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle was not a participant at practice Thursday.
This was the plan from head coach Kyle Shanahan after Kittle suffered a knee injury against the Arizona Cardinals last weekend. While it's unlikely Kittle will practice at all this week, it seems as though his status for Sunday's Week 2 game against the New York Jets isn't legitimately in doubt. Keep an eye on his status as game day approaches just in case there's a setback. If he's limited in any way Sunday, backup tight end Jordan Reed would see increased work.
The Jets secondary got torched for 0.34 Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play, the 9th-worst mark in the NFL.
