James Conner (ankle) practices in full for Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner (ankle) was a full participant at Thursday's practice.
Conner is now on track to play Week 2 against the Denver Broncos after he tweaked his ankle on Monday night and was held out of Wednesday's practice. Ed Bouchette of The Athletic said second-year back Benny Snell could be "used more often" even after Conner recovers, so the Steelers may be more open to a committee approach. Snell ran 19 times for 113 yards against the New York Giants on Monday night after Conner exited with an ankle injury.
Conner only averaged -0.40 Rushing Net Expected Points on 6 carries while Snell added 0.06 Rushing NEP per carry. They will take on a Broncos team on Sunday that ranks 10th in numberFire's advanced rushing defensive metric through one week of games.
