Antonio Gibson totals 44 yards on 11 touches for Washington in debut
Washington Football Team rookie running back Antonio Gibson rushed 9 times for 36 yards and caught 2 passes (2 targets) for 8 yards in a 27-17, Week 1 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
Gibson gained a good chunk of his yardage on an impressive 20-yard burst, but Peyton Barber out-carried the rookie 17-9 and converted two goal-line scores. Gibson also only played 20 snaps while Barber and J.D. McKissic both logged 29 snaps. Despite the smaller workload and snap share, Gibson still led Washington in rushing and should see more volume moving forward. Washington will face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2.
Gibson scored 5.4 FanDuel points in Week 1, falling short of numberFire's projection (9.6). He averaged 4.0 yards per touch, compared to 1.7 for Barber and negative-0.25 yards per touch for McKissic.
