Bryan Edwards sees only 1 target in Raiders' shootout

Las Vegas Raiders rookie wide receiver Bryan Edwards caught his only target for 9 yards in a 34-30, Week 1 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

What It Means:

Edwards was on the field for 46-of-61 offensive snaps (75.4 percent), but Derek Carr barely looked the rookie's way while fellow rookie Henry Ruggs was third on the Raiders with 5 targets. Despite the lack of looks, Edward's playing time in his NFL debut was encouraging as he has taken over for Tyrell Williams (labrum surgery, IR) on the outside. Edwards should be more involved against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2 and moving forward.

Edwards' 46 offensive snaps were third-most among rookie wide receivers on Sunday's slate. Carr targeted his running backs and tight ends on 67.9 percent of his pass attempts.
