David Montgomery (groin) expected to play Sunday for Bears
Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery (groin) is expected to play Sunday versus the Detroit Lions.
Montgomery suffered the injury in training camp, but has reportedly been able to participate in practices in a limited form and was upgraded to questionable on the injury report. While Ian Rapoport reports that the back is expected to receive a full workload, his touches will be something to monitor in Week 1.
The Lions should have a strong run defense this season, and the Bears are currently projected as 2.5-point dogs, meaning the even if Montgomery is fully healthy this week, expectations for his fantasy points should be lowered.
