Sammy Watkins leads Chiefs with 7 catches, 82 yards
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins caught 7 passes on 9 targets for 82 yards and 1 touchdown in a Week 1 win over the Houston Texans on Thursday night.
Watkins led the Chiefs in targets, catches, and yards. He played the second-most offensive snaps among receivers behind Tyreek Hill and notably out-targeted Mecole Hardman 9-1. It may be difficult for Watkins to maintain this sort of volume on a weekly basis in a crowded Kansas City offense, but he has the inherent advantage of playing with Patrick Mahomes in one of the best passing attacks in league history. Watkins and the Chiefs will square off with the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2.
Watkins scored 14.5 FanDuel points on Thursday, beating out numberFire's projection of 7.7 FanDuel points.
