Deebo Samuel (foot) misses 49ers' Wednesday practice
San Francisco Giants wide receiver Deebo Samuel was not a participant at practice Wednesday.
Many expected Samuel to land on the short-term IR as training camp progressed, but the 49ers took a gamble on his health by keeping him on the active roster. Him missing practice this close to game day isn't a good sign, but his status could change in the coming days. Keep a close eye as Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals nears. With Brandon Aiyuk also absent from practice Wednesday, the 49ers' pass catching situation is a bit murky. Expect George Kittle to see his usual workload, and Kendrick Bourne would be the de facto No. 1 receiver.
Samuel is currently the WR37 in numberFire's season-long fantasy rankings. Our models expect him to average 6.5 targets, 4.2 receptions, and 56.0 yards over a 15-game season.
