Lions place Bo Scarbrough (undisclosed) on injured reserve

The Detroit Lions have place running back Bo Scarbrough (undisclosed) on injured reserve.

What It Means:

He'll miss a minimum of three weeks before he is eligible to come off of the injured reserve with this year's rules. Scarbrough's injury does help explain why the Lions pursued veteran running back Adrian Peterson so shortly after he hit the free agent market late last week.

Scarbrough was expected to have a small role with the Lions this season as a short-yardage grinder after posting 89 carries for 377 yards and a score last year, but now he'll have to compete with Peterson for opportunities when he comes off of the injured reserve. He's not likely to have much of an impact for fantasy without injuries to the rest of the team's backfield.
