Mike Wallace

Minnesota expected to move on from Mike Wallace

Minnesota Vikings wideout is not expected to be back with the Vikings in 2016, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune's Matt Vensel reports.

What It Means:

It's certainly unlikely he is back at his current $11.5 million cap number. The Vikings can release Wallace with zero dead-money on the salary cap, which makes this something of a no-brainer. Wallace posted 473 yards and two scored in his first season in Minnesota. The Vikings will move on with Stefon Diggs and Jarius Wright at the Z and slot spots while looking for a big-bodied X receiver on the outside. Expect Minnesota to draft a wideout.

Of the 61 receivers to see at least 70 targets in 2015, Wallace ranked 51st in Reception Net Expected Points per target.
