The Cleveland Browns reportedly courted tight end Austin Hooper by pitching him an offer to play the role Mark Andrews played for Baker Mayfield at Oklahoma University.
Andrews was a highly productive tight end prospect while playing alongside Mayfield at Oklahoma; he led the 2017 Oklahoma team in receptions (62) despite playing alongside future first-round receivers Marquise Brown and CeeDee Lamb, somewhat mirroring the Browns' current situation with both Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry. The promise of such a role helped court then-free-agent Hooper to the Browns this offseason.
Hooper played an important, high-volume role for the Atlanta Falcons last season, and is expected to be a critical component of Kevin Stefanski's offense this year. He's our TE13 heading into the 2020 season.
