Contract talks halt between Zach Ertz and Eagles
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that contract negotiations between the Philadelphia Eagles and tight end Zach Ertz have come to an 'abrupt halt.'
Per the report, the Eagles' most recent offer was apparently for less money than the offer they sent Ertz' camp in November, despite the tight end's importance to the team. With Dallas Goedert waiting in the wings, the Eagles could be preparing to move on from their veteran tight end.
Ertz is under contract through the 2021 season, so we likely won't have to worry about this until next season, but it's still curious to see the Eagles reportedly low-balling their leading pass-catcher from each of the past three seasons. Ertz is our TE4 this season, landing right in between Mark Andrews and Evan Engram.
