Adrian Peterson expected to be Washington's early-down back
Washington Football Team running back Adrian Peterson is expected to get the early-down work, per Ben Standig of The Athletic.
"Peterson gets the early downs with the explosive rookie [Antonio] Gibson and the pass-catching [J.D.] McKissic next in line for touches," writes Standig. Peterson had 18-plus carries in four different games last year and rushed for over 100 yards in two of them. He's averaged 14.9 carries and 62.6 yards per game for Washington over the past two seasons.
numberFire's models project Peterson for 139.9 carries, 553.4 rushing yards, 10.7 receptions (15.1 targets), 82.8 receiving yards, and 3.4 touchdowns. He's the RB49 in our preseason fantasy rankings.
