Mixon, who had been absent from camp due to migraines, signed a four-year extension that ties his future to the Bengals through 2024. Last season, Mixon turned 278 carries into 1,137 yards (4.1 per attempt) and 5 touchdowns, adding 35 receptions on 42 targets (83.3 rec %) for 287 yards, and 3 touchdowns. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' 22nd best running back working behind an offensive line that graded out second-worst in run blocking. With a new deal in place, Mixon returned to practice on Tuesday and is expected to be good to go for their season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers on September 13th. He is expected to operate as the lead back in a new-look Bengals offense with rookie Joe Burrow under center.
