Jaguars' Devine Ozigbo may have Week 1 role

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Devine Ozigbo "could get some decent Week 1 run," per Jaguars beat writer John Shipley.

What It Means:

Ryquell Armstead missed almost three weeks of practice for COVID-19 and he is sidelined again Tuesday for a separate illness. Ozigbo may see a boost against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 but he will likely be the second back in the committee once Armstead is healthy. His ceiling will also be capped by Chris Thompson dominating passing-game usage and stealing some carries of his own. Ozigbo totaled 50 yards on 12 touches last season as an undrafted rookie.

numberFire's models project Ozigbo for 89.3 carries, 361.6 rushing yards, 20.7 catches (29.2 targets), 155.4 receiving yards, and 3.3 touchdowns this season. He's the RB55 in our preseason fantasy rankings.
