Jags' Chris Thompson a 'star of red zone drills' in camp
Running back Chris Thompson has reportedly been the 'star of the red zone drills' for the Jacksonville Jaguars this summer.
Thompson, a passing-game specialist, joined the team this offseason. His presence was already expected to sap some of Leonard Fournette's receiving work this season, but the 29-year-old veteran has reportedly shone in the red zone this offseason. It's worth noting that Thompson had an elite stretch as a fantasy RB1 back in 2017 before suffering a terrible leg injury that ended his season.
While Thompson is currently projected as our RB73 heading into the season, he could make for an ideal late-round running back pick in zero-RB drafts this season. The Jags are expected to be trailing in most of their games this season and were reportedly looking to trade Fournette, whose relationship with the team has been shaky, during the 2020 NFL Draft.
