Seahawks' Marshawn Lynch told friends he's retiring
Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has told "people close to him" he plans on retiring, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
According to Schefter, Lynch has even told members of the Seahawks organization he plans on hanging it up. Lynch, who was on the fence about coming back last year, struggled through an injury-plagued season in 2015 while being outplayed by rookie Thomas Rawls.
Among backs with at least 100 carries this year, Rawls ranked second in Rushing Net Expected Points per carry while Lynch ranked 28th. If this is it for Beast Mode, he'll finish his career with 9,112 rushing yards across nine NFL seasons. That total ranks 36th all-time.
