49ers restructure Raheem Mostert's contract
The San Francisco 49ers have restructured Raheem Mostert's contract.
Mostert signed an extension last season, but was now looking for compensation in line with his increased role at the end of last season. Mostert was dominant down the stretch in the 49ers playoff run, and now gets a nice 'thank you' from the team. It's worth noting here that the team was so accommodating to Mostert, despite having both Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon under contract. This restructure implies that the team still considers Mostert an important part of their offensive plans for the 2020 season.
Mostert's soul-crushing 29-220-4 performance against the Green Bay Packers propelled the 49ers to the Super Bowl this past February, and the team definitely took notice of his late-season breakout. He is currently numberFire's RB24 for the 2020 season and is projected to lead the 49ers' backfield in carries with 198.
