Washington's Alex Smith (leg) cleared for football activity

Washington Football Team's quarterback Alex Smith has been cleared for full football activity by his surgical team, according to ESPN's Stephania Bell.

What It Means:

Smith is reportedly going through COVID-19 testing and expects to report to the team's facility on Monday for a physical. On Friday, Smith told ESPN that his surgical team, which includes Washington team physician Robin West, told him that his bone was in a "really good place" and that he "had healed a lot and given the combination of the rod and where he was with the healing process, he has zero limitations and could even resume some football activities." Smith suffered a horrific double fracture of his tibia and fibula in 2018 and has been on a long road to recovery ever since. He will join a Washington quarterback room that consists of sophomore Dwayne Haskins and recent arrival Kyle Allen.

Smith was Pro Football Focus' 25th graded quarterback in 2018.
