The Dallas Cowboys have signed seventh-round pick Ben DiNucci to a rookie contract.
DiNucci was not an exciting prospect, having flamed out at Pittsburgh before putting up solid numbers at James Madison University. However, with Andy Dalton on just a one-year deal, the Cowboys do have something of a need at backup quarterback. He'll compete with former Eagles fifth-round pick Clayton Thorson for a job, but both are unlikely to make the final roster this season.
DiNucci is still very much a developmental prospect, but he did have one area where he shined this past season: the deep ball. He graded out just behind Joe Burrow (130.9) on passer rating on deep attempts with a rating of 125.9 in this year's class.
