Dak Prescott reportedly expected to play under Cowboys tag
The Dallas Cowboys and franchise-tagged quarterback Dak Prescott are not expected to agree on a long-term deal prior to Wednesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Cowboys latest offer was worth $33-$35 million annually with $100 million guaranteed, but Prescott turned it down. He will make $31.4 million under the franchise tag in 2020 in what will be his age-27 season. Prescott threw the fourth-most passing yards (4,902) and second-most touchdowns (30) in the NFL last season. He also accumulated the second-most air yards (5,454) and had the sixth-highest average depth of target (9.2 yards) among 42 quarterbacks with 100-plus attempts.
Dak is the third-highest ranked player in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models project him for 4,495.4 yards, 30.1 touchdowns, and 10.4 interceptions with another 254.5 yards and 3.7 touchdowns on the ground.
