Saints' Drew Brees has already practiced with Emmanuel Sanders
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was filmed practicing with new teammate Emmanuel Sanders in Denver.
Always known for his football work ethic, Brees wasted no time before getting some reps in with his new wide receiver despite the ongoing pandemic. Brees posted an average depth of target (aDOT) of just 6.7 yards in 2019, the fourth-lowest mark among qualified quarterbacks, but Sanders' presence should help strengthen the Saints' downfield passing game.
Part of the reason for Brees' remarkably low aDOT was the Saints' pass-catching group. While Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara are highly skilled players, they both operate close to the line of scrimmage. Sanders, who posted aDOTs of over 9 yards with each of his two teams last season, should help boost Brees' efficiency even further. Brees is currently numberFire's QB9 and is projected for 278.89 fantasy points.
