NFL Player Association Board reportedly recommends skipping 2020 preseason

According to ESPN and Dan Graziano, the National Football League Player Association Board reportedly voted unanimously to skip the 2020 preseason.

What It Means:

With training camp set to begin in late July, the NFL Player Association's board has expressed serious concern towards the health and safety guidelines formulated for this upcoming season despite recent discussions involving newly designed protective face masks, reduced training camp rosters, and possible fines for players who spread the virus from public contact. According to Graziano, "Sources familiar with the content of Thursday's call said players had many unanswered questions about how they can safely return to practice and play" but the league "does not believe it needs the union's approval to set its preseason schedule" and "so far maintained that it plans to start camp and the regular season on time."

Expect the Players Association Board to continue pushing back on this year's scheduled preseason. With teams' training camps only a few weeks away, the NFL and the players' union will really need to get on the same page before any type of team workouts' or games occur.
