John Brown expected to benefit from Bills' offseason moves

Buffalo Bills wide receiver John Brown will benefit from the offseason acquisition of wide receiver Stefon Diggs, according to quarterback Josh Allen.

What It Means:

Allen also believes Diggs' arrival will behoove Cole Beasley. “I think this is going to give them an opportunity to have more chances to catch the ball,” Allen said. “They had career years and everybody talking about the addition of Stefon Diggs will hurt their value. I think it’s the other way around. John was a 1,000-yard receiver last year. Man-to-man, he’s extremely tough to cover." Brown was as consistent as they come last year, with at least 50 receiving yards in 14-of-17 games, including the playoffs. He slowed down slightly down the stretch but still finished as the Bills' leading receiver and posted career-highs with 72 receptions and 1,060 yards on 115 targets in the regular season. Diggs is undoubtedly going to cut into Brown's target share, but his arrival should create more big-play opportunities for Brown downfield. He tied for the 10th-most 20-plus yard receptions (17) last season.

Brown is the WR49 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models project him for 101.0 targets, 49.8 receptions, 655.0 yards, and 4.3 touchdowns.
