Bears' Anthony Miller (shoulder) focusing on preparation

Chicago Bears wide receiver Anthony Miller (shoulder) will keep to a "more structured preparation schedule" this season, according to position coach Mike Furrey.

What It Means:

“In the middle of the season, I believe Anthony really started having an idea and understanding what it takes not just how to step inside the 4-inch line and go play football, but how to start developing himself as a professional through a process leading up to a game,” Furrey said. "That’s something we’ve been talking about all offseason, continuing to grow him from a maturity standpoint, educating himself on the game, what it takes to become a professional. We will have a structured schedule throughout the week, and that process will help him become more successful on Sundays when we line up.” Miller is recovering from his second straight offseason shoulder surgery, but he was playing well before the injury. From Weeks 11-15, Miller averaged 10.4 targets, 6.6 catches, and 86.2 yards per game. He's fully expected to open the year as the Bears' second receiver behind Allen Robinson. Miller will turn 25 in October.

Miller is the WR44 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models project him for 101.7 targets, 64.0 receptions, 743.9 yards, and 4.3 touchdowns.
