Steelers' James Conner focused on winning Super Bowl No.7 for Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner is fully focused on winning heading into the 2020-21 season, stating that he has "visions of us and me being a part of Super Bowl No. 7 for this (the Steelers) organization".

What It Means:

Conner told ESPN's Brooke Pryor earlier this month that his "goal is to win" and that he's "not playing for a contract or playing not to get hurt. I'm playing to win. That's what it's all about." A third-round selection three years ago, Conner followed up his breakout 2018 season with a disappointing 2019 that was marred by injuries. Conner turned 166 attempts into just 464 yards (4.0 per attempt), and 4 touchdowns, but added 34 receptions on 38 targets (89.5%) for 251 yards and 3 touchdowns. Conner earned a receiving grade of 89.8 from Pro Football Focus, third-best at his position behind only Austin Ekeler and Christian McCaffrey (min 27 targets). Despite working with abysmal play from the quarterback position, Conner registered an NFL passer rating when targeted of 120.5, the fifth-highest mark in the league (min 27 targets).

numberFire's models project Conner for 217.6 carries, 949.5 rushing yards, 274.2 receiving yards, 33.4 receptions (43.2 targets), and 8.1 touchdowns this season. He's the RB20 in our preseason fantasy rankings.
