Colts sign safety Julian Blackmon to 4-year rookie contract
The Indianapolis Colts have signed rookie safety Julian Blackmon to a four-year deal.
Blackmon was a two-year starter at cornerback before moving to safety during his senior year. After earning All-Pac 12 honors in all three years while starting, the Utah defensive back consistently displayed impressive ball skills, accumulating nine interceptions and 20 pass deflections. Expect Blackmon to spend most of his rookie NFL season learning the finer points of the safety position before seeing major playing time.
In 43 games during his collegiate career, Blackmon produced 8.5 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 9 interceptions.
