Lions' D'Andre Swift to be part of a 'package'
Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn stated that the team will 'use all of' their running backs, and that second-round pick D'Andre Swift would be a 'part of that package.'
Swift was one of the top running backs in this year's class on many people's boards, and Quinn even stated that he was surprised Swift was still there when the Lions selected him the third pick of the second round. Despite his evident talent, Swift was never a true workhorse at the college level. It would appear for now that he will continue to operate as part of a committee with the Lions.
Swift will have to compete with another former second-rounder in Kerryon Johnson for opportunities in 2020. numberFire currently projects Swift to lead the backfield with 181.28 carries for 770.89 yards and 4.16 touchdowns.
