When asked about the decision to sign Nick Foles, Trubisky said "It was kind of interesting to me. That’s the business that we’re in. I think I was kinda pissed off in a good way. I’ve been motivated ever since.” Trubisky, the second overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft, could benefit from a little motivation following a disappointing start to his NFL career. In 15 games last season, Trubisky completed 326 of his 516 attempts (62.2%) for 3,152 yards (6.1 per attempt), 17 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. His 6.1 yards per attempt was the 38th lowest mark in the league (min 141 dropbacks) and he passer rating of 83.1 was 31st among quarterbacks, just ahead of Eli Manning and Mason Rudolph. Earlier this offseason the Bears said that they plan to play both Foles and Trubisky during the preseason, and our models expect Foles to win the starting job and not look back.
