Chris Carson the clear starter in Seattle

Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson is the clear starter, running back Carlos Hyde said.

What It Means:

Hyde, who was signed by the Seahawks towards the end of May, said "everyone knows" that Carson is the lead dog in the backfield. This was also reported by Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times when Hyde was signed. Rashaad Penny (knee) isn't expected to be ready for the start of the season, so Hyde will likely see a role as a complement to Carson. Despite leading all non-quarterbacks with 4 fumbles and 7 fumbles lost last season, Carson still handled 15-plus carries in 14 of the 15 games he completed. He finished among the top-10 in the NFL in rushing yards (1,230), rushing touchdowns (7), scrimmage yards (1,496), and touches (315). The 2017 seventh-round pick turns 26 in mid-September.

numberFire's models project Carson for 255.2 carries, 1,128.6 rushing yards, 30.9 catches (40.5 targets), 256.0 receiving yards, and 9.1 touchdowns this season. He's the RB15 in our preseason fantasy rankings.
