Titans coaches still 'really like' Corey Davis

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessee Titans reports that the coaches still 'really like' former first round wide receiver Corey Davis, but that his future with the team will be heavily dependent on his play in 2020.

What It Means:

Davis has not lived up to the hype since the team selected him with the fifth overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, and as such, the team did not pick up his fifth-year team option this offseason. He'll be playing for a second contract in 2020, but a change of scenery could be beneficial for Davis with regards to fantasy football production.

Davis looked like a borderline top-dog receiver in his second season with the run-heavy Titans, garnering one of the largest target shares in the league, but hasn't quite developed into an alpha receiver. He has averaged a solid 8.2 yards per target over the past two seasons, but was completely overshadowed by rookie sensation A.J. Brown in 2019. numberFire currently projects Davis to catch 44.38 passes for 609.8 yards and 3.4 touchdowns in 2020.
