Colts' Mo Alie-Cox to play more in 2020
Indianapolis Colts tight end Mo Alie-Cox will see more playing time next season, head coach Frank Reich said.
That playing time will come as a key run blocker and pass-catcher, per Reich. “Sometimes you might think the basketball guy is a finesse guy," Reich said. "Mo is not a finesse guy — he is a powerful man." Alie-Cox was a four-year basketball standout at VCU, but he joined the Colts in 2017 as an undrafted free agent. It was his first time playing organized football since his freshman year of high school, so there's potential for a big leap forward in Alie-Cox's third season. He has just 15 career catches on 23 targets and only played 32.9 percent of the Colts' offensive snaps last year.
numberFire's models project Alie-Cox for 17.1 targets, 11.6 receptions, 136.5 yards, and 1.0 touchdowns in 2020.
