J.J. Watt not asking Texans for new deal
Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt will not request a revised contract or extension this offseason.
"I think that I fully understand... what's happened in the past few years," Watt said. "So I'm not going to sit here and demand anything." Watt is referring to only playing in 32-of-64 regular season games over the past four seasons due to a handful of injuries. He did return from a torn pec for the playoffs last year, but it's still probably not the best time to ask for a raise. Watt, now 31, has two years remaining on his deal.
numberFire's models project Watt for 40.5 tackles and 8.3 sacks this season. The Texans D/ST is 26th in our preseason fantasy rankings.
