Broncos' Drew Lock working with teammates
Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock recently met with a few teammates for a throwing session, per Troy Renck of Denver7.
Renck didn't mention who Lock was working with, but it's encouraging to see the young quarterback getting in reps ahead of his first full season as the Broncos' starter. After missing most of his rookie year with a thumb injury, Lock went 4-1 down the stretch with 7 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. He posted an underwhelming 6.5 yards per attempt, but Lock should benefit from the first- and second-round selections of Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler.
Lock is the QB27 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models project him for 3,873.2 yards, 22.8 touchdowns, and 10.8 interceptions with another 129.4 yards and 1.2 touchdowns on the ground. Lock added 0.14 Passing Net Expected Points per drop back last season, ranking 14th out of 42 quarterbacks with at least 100 dropbacks. However, he benefitted from an advantageous schedule, as Lock's average dropback came against the league's 20.2-ranked pass defense, per numberFire's metrics.
