This is the second time this offseason that Hughes has indicated the Jets remain bearish on Herndon, despite a disastrous 2019 campaign. He was suspended for the first four games, pulled his hamstring while preparing to return, and then played 18 snaps in his Week 10 debut before suffering a season-ending ribs injury. As a rookie in 2018, Herndon caught 39 passes on 56 targets for 502 yards and 4 touchdowns. He turned 24 in February.
