Buccaneers' Ronald Jones working on receiving

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones has been working on his pass-catching abilities.

What It Means:

Jones is up to 225 pounds and has been working hard to improve as a pass-catcher, according to personal trainer Luke Neal. He was targeted 40 times last season, but Jones' workload is now threatened by third-round pick Ke'Shawn Vaughn. Jones also isn't helped by the fact that he struggled as a pass-blocker last year, earning a 38.4 grade from Pro Football Focus.

Jones ranked 12th in numberFire's advanced per-target receiving metric last season out of 37 running backs with at least 40 targets. Jones was 53rd in Pro Football Focus' pass-blocking efficiency metric out of the 60 running backs to play at least 20.0 percent of their team's pass-blocking snaps last season.
