Joe Flacco recovering from April neck surgery
Free agent quarterback Joe Flacco is recovering from a neck operation he underwent in April, per Adam Caplan of SiriusXM and elsewhere.
Caplan says Flacco is expected to be ready to play by "late August/early September." That may mean the 35-year-old quarterback doesn't wind up signing until after the season starts. Flacco missed the final eight games of last season with a neck injury. Prior to that, he threw 6 touchdowns and 5 interceptions on 6.6 adjusted yards per attempt (25th in the NFL) in his lone season with the Denver Broncos.
Flacco averaged 11.2 FanDuel points per game (QB37) last season. He had the fourth-lowest average depth of target (6.8 yards) among the 33 quarterbacks with at least 200 attempts.
