Eagles planning Alshon Jeffery as 'major part' of offense

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is expected to be a "major part" of the offense, according to team insider Dave Spadaro.

What It Means:

"The Eagles have made sure this offseason to get the word out that Jeffery is being counted on and Roseman has had conversations to that extent with having No. 17 in the picture," writes Spadaro. Jeffery, now 30, is coming off Lisfranc surgery following another injury-plagued campaign and the Eagles have added a lot of speed at the position this offseason, so this is a bit of a surprise. First-round pick Jalen Reagor may not be included in two-wide sets, at least to start the season.

Jeffery averaged 11.2 FanDuel points (WR33), 7.3 targets, 4.3 catches, and 49.0 yards per game with 4 touchdowns last season. His 6.7 yards per target were the second-fewest of his career and ranked 69th among 80 receivers with at least 50 targets last season. Jeffery also finished below league average at his position in Reception Net Expected Points per target.
