Jarrett Stidham still the 'leading candidate' to replace Tom Brady
ESPN's Mike Reiss reiterated that Jarrett Stidham is still the "leading candidate" to become the New England Patriots' starting quarterback.
There has been a steady drumbeat of support for Stidham all offseason. Stidham survived the NFL Draft without the team drafting another quarterback, and as the pool of available free agent quarterbacks dwindles each week, his bid to become the Pats' starter continues to grow stronger.
We are going to have an entire offseason of speculation regarding the successor to Tom Brady in New England, especially while Cam Newton is still a free agent. Stidham is a largely unproven talent, and is so-far best remembered for throwing a pick-six against the New York Jets.
