Seahawks' K.J. Wright recovering from shoulder surgery

Seattle Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright is recovering from a shoulder operation.

What It Means:

Seahawks general manager John Schneider said it was "not a serious surgery." He also added that Wright could be shifted to strong-side linebacker after the team selected linebacker Jordyn Brooks with the 27th overall pick. Wright has played on the other side since 2013, but his play took a step back last season. He turns 31 in July.

Wright recorded 5 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, and 11 pass deflections in 2019. He has just 1 quarterback hit over the past two years. Wright earned an overall defensive grade below 65.0 from Pro Football Focus for the first time in his career. He graded 27th out of 63 linebackers to play at least 500 defensive snaps.
