The Carolina Panthers signed offensive guard Michael Schofield, formerly of the Los Angeles Chargers, to a 1-year contract, reports Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Schofield played nearly every single snap for the Chargers offense over the past two seasons, but he was ousted for a younger body. The six-year veteran will likely take over as the starting right guard in Carolina.
Schofield earned Pro Football Focus' 12th-best pass-blocking grade and 31st overall out of 68 guards to play at least 500 snaps last season.
