Mike Williams signed with Chargers through 2021
The Los Angeles Chargers exercised wide receiver Mike Williams' fifth-year option for 2021.
Williams led the league with 20.4 yards per reception last season while recording his first 1,000-yard campaign. His 9.8 yards per target since entering the league is sixth-most out of the 109 players with at least 100 receptions over the past three years. The transition from a regressing Philip Rivers to first-round pick Justin Herbert could lead to even more production from Williams, but that may be put on delay if the Chargers open 2020 with Tyrod Taylor under center. Williams turns 26 in October.
Williams averaged 9.1 FanDuel points (WR49) and 66.7 yards per game with 2 touchdowns last season. He finished 5th in numberFire's advanced per-target receiving metric out of 81 receivers with at least 50 targets.
