Falcons decline Takk McKinley 2021 option
The Atlanta Falcons declined edge defender Takk McKinley's fifth-year option for 2021.
What It Means:
McKinley is still expected to start next season opposite offseason acquisition Dante Fowler, but this move was expected. He finished with a career-low 3.5 sacks last year after missing the final two games with a shoulder injury. McKinley is 24 years of age.
McKinley was Pro Football Focus' 41st-graded edge defender last season out of 66 players at the position with at least 500 defensive snaps. The 2017 first-rounder has received a defensive grade below 70.0 each season he's played.
