Joe Burrow picked No. 1 overall by Bengals
LSU quarterback Joe Burrow has a new home, as the 2019 Heisman Trophy winner and national champion was selected first overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2020 NFL Draft.
This moves comes as expected for the Bengals, who seem fully ready to move on from longtime starting quarterback Andy Dalton. Burrow just put together one of the best seasons in the history of college football, culminating with a sterling performance against Clemson to bring home the title. And following his dominant senior campaign, a No. 1 overall selection was essentially a given.
Across 15 games last year, Burrow threw for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns with just 6 interceptions. Cincinnati's quarterback pair of Dalton and Ryan Finley threw for just 228.2 yards per game - 19th in the league - with 18 scores and 16 picks.
