Marcus Johnson re-signs with Colts

The Indianapolis Colts re-signed wide receiver Marcus Johnson.

What It Means:

The deal is reportedly for one season. Johnson played over 70.0 percent of the offensive snaps in seven of the Colts' final eight games while flashing some downfield ability (16.3 yards per catch). The 2016 undrafted free agent figures to compete for the fourth receiver job behind T.Y. Hilton, Zach Pascal, and Parris Campbell.

Johnson averaged 34.6 yards, 2.1 receptions, and 4.1 targets with 2 touchdowns last season. His 16.3 yards per reception ranked 16th out of 120 receivers with at least 15 catches. Johnson's 0.69 Reception Net Expected Points per target was just below league average (0.70) and fourth out of seven Colts' players with at least 10 targets.
