Justin Simmons, Broncos in 'active negotiations'
The Denver Broncos and franchise-tagged safety Justin Simmons are in "active negotiations," per general manager John Elway.
The sides have exchanged offers. They have until July 15 to reach a long-term agreement. Simmons earned his first All-Pro selection in 2019 on the heels of a career-high 4 interceptions and 15 pass deflections. The 2016 third-rounder is 26.
Simmons finished as Pro Football Focus' top overall safety and third-best cover safety out of 120 at the position to play at least 100 defensive snaps last season.
