P.J. Williams willing to play wherever Saints want
New Orleans Saints defensive back P.J. Williams said he'll be ready to play "wherever they need me."
Williams is returning to the Saints for a sixth season after re-signing on a one-year deal at the beginning of the month. āIām going to come in there being ready to play them all,ā Williams said. He primarily contributed in the slot last season, but also played outside and at free safety. The former third-round pick turns 27 in June.
Williams had 1 interception and 4 pass deflections last season and allowed 5 touchdowns on 64 targets. He graded 74th on Pro Football Focus among 83 corners to play at least 553 defensive snaps. Williams has given up 8.2 yards per target and received negative coverage grades from PFF each of the past two years.
