The Chicago Bears signed offensive lineman Germain Ifedi to a one-year contract on Wednesday.
The former 31st overall pick from the 2016 draft spent his first four seasons in Seattle and played the majority of his snaps last season at right tackle. The 25-year-old may be asked to slide to guard this season to help replace the retiring Kyle Long. He joins a Chicago Bears unit that ranked 20th in both run and pass blocking last season, per Pro Football Focus.
Last season, Ifedi allowed a career-high 7 sacks, 6 quarterback hits, 39 hurries, 52 pressures, and committed 14 penalties. He received a pass-blocking grade of 63.3 and a run-blocking grade of 57.6 from Pro Football Focus.
