Cowboys pick up Blake Bell
The Dallas Cowboys signed tight end Blake Bell, formerly of the Kansas City Chiefs, to a 1-year contract.
Bell logged a career-high 397 offensive snaps last season for the Super Bowl champions, but they primarily came as a blocker. He was targeted only 15 times over 15 games while being held under 100 yards for a fourth consecutive season. Bell, turning 29 in August, is unlikely to emerge as a pass-catcher in Dallas. He joins Blake Jarwin, Dalton Schultz, and Cole Hikutini on the depth chart.
Bell averaged 1.6 FanDuel points per game last season. His catch percentage dipped to 53.3 percent after coming in above 70.0 percent the previous two seasons. Bell's career-low 4.5 yards per target was 63rd among the 66 tight ends with at least 15 targets.
